Using the play outline changes everything. J.W.Bowman, a Presbyterian who taught at San Francisco Theological Seminary, realized the book of Revelation was written in the form of a play. Using the play outline, that Bowman believes John the author of the Revelation intended, the violence that is described does not happen. Using Chapter and verse numbers, which John the author did not place in the book, we think the end of the world is described, as in Chapter 6:17. Using the play format we see the scene is not finished and a great angel comes along and stops the action. The angel is saying to the violence, this is not what God wants.

A Non-Violent Revelation to John is written from the perspective of someone who has gone to the play and is describing what is happening on the stage. Describing the evil, the dragon, the first beast and the second beast, as the Roman Empire, the emperor, and the proconsul priest. He is taught by John what the relationship should be between Christians and Jews. And most surprisingly, Gods final act is not an act of vindictive destruction which puts people through pain and torture, but God's final act is an act of loving redemption for all the people on the earth.

This book is not what your use to. If you have an open mind, ready for the God of Revelation to be as loving, accepting, and forgiving as the God we see in the rest of the New Testament, then buy this book.
